چکیده

Performance of the conventional narrowband active noise control (NANC) system may degrade severely when the uncorrelated narrowband disturbance noise is present in the system. In this paper, we propose a new hybrid NANC system capable of reducing the primary noise and the uncorrelated disturbance simultaneously. First, some simple analysis is used to show why the NANC system may indicate poor performance in the presence of the uncorrelated disturbance. Next, a new hybrid NANC is proposed to tackle this problem. The new system consists of three subsystems: 1) a conventional NANC subsystem to cancel the primary noise; 2) a feedback ANC (FANC) subsystem to cancel the uncorrelated narrowband disturbance; 3) an sinusoidal noise canceler (SNC) subsystem using adaptive notch filter of linear combination which is designed to remedy the problem of common error. Extensive simulations are conducted to demonstrate the proposed system can effectively mitigate such noise, and improves considerable the overall performance of the system.

A decoupled hybrid structure for active noise control with uncorrelated narrowband disturbances

In real active noise control (ANC) applications, the following situations frequently occur, one is that disturbances only present at the error sensor and have low correlation with reference signal, the other is that there is no enough space or ideal position for locating the reference sensor to satisfy causality condition. Thus the residual noise after feedforward control can be seen as uncorre...

Design of High Gain, High Reverse Isolation and High Input Matched Narrowband LNA for GPS L1 Band Applications Using 0.18µm Technology

Design of Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver with a low noise amplifier (LNA) in the front end remains a major design requirement for the success of modern day navigation and communication system. Any LNA is expected to meet the requirements like its ability to add the least amount of noise while providing sufficient gain, perfect input and output matching, and high linearity. However, mo...

Acoustic Feedback Path Modeling in Active Noise Control Systems

The presence of strong acoustic feedback degrades the convergence speed of the active noise control (ANC) filter, and in the worst case the ANC system may become unstable. Here we present an overview of the existing methods developed to neutralize the effects of acoustic feedback. We identify the problems with the existing methods, and propose a new method. The proposed method uses three adapti...

A moving zone of quiet for narrowband noise in a one-dimensional duct using virtual sensing.

A frequent problem in active noise control is that the zone of quiet created at the error sensor tends to be very small. This means that the error sensor generally needs to be located close to an observer's ear, which might not always be a convenient or feasible solution. Virtual sensing is a method that can move the zone of quiet away from the error sensor to a desired location that is spatial...

Individual Error Signal Design in Narrowband Active Noise Control Systems

A narrowband active noise control (NANC) system is often applied to reduce undesired noise with multiple tones whose frequencies are close. Generally, an NANC system uses a single error signal to update a bank of adaptive filters configured in direct/parallel or parallel form. This work proposes a delayless filterbank to participate the frequency components of the error signal into individual e...
